New M&A Tax Partner at KPMG

Richard Sherman has joined the mergers and acquisitions tax practice of KPMG LLP as a partner.

Based in Chicago, Sherman will focus on working with private equity and other clients. He joins the Big Four firm from Alvarez & Marsal, where he was managing director of the Chicago office. Prior to that, he spent nine years at Ernst & Young.

Sherman holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Champaign, a Master's in Taxation from DePaul University, and a J.D. in Corporate Taxation from Loyola Law School.
