The New York State Society of CPAs has promoted Joanne Barry to deputy executive director.
Barry joined the NYSSCPA in 1981 as assistant director of public relations and has risen through the ranks, becoming director of the communications division and a managing director. She previously worked for Hackensack University Medical Center and the New York City School Volunteer Program.
Barry is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communications. She has won more than 20 awards for communications programs.
