PCAOB Announces Fraud-Focused Agenda for SAG Meeting

On Wednesday, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced the agenda for the Nov. 20-21, 2014, meeting of the Standing Advisory Group in Arlington, Va.

The agenda includes a large focus on discussion by SAG members of fraud detection by auditors, including panels on:

  • Auditor incentives and behavior-related considerations regarding fraud detection
  • Lessons learned from other disciplines; and auditor knowledge
  • Skills regarding fraud detection.

Additionally, the agenda includes a discussion on auditing revenue and a summary presentation of comments received on the staff consultation paper on auditing accounting estimates and fair value measurements. Lastly, members will hear an update on PCAOB developments and on the standard-setting agenda.
The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Arlington Hotel, 1325 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Va. The meeting is open to the public and will be available via webcast on the PCAOB website here.

The SAG includes investors, auditors, public company executives, and others. The group is chaired by PCAOB chief auditor and director of professional standards Martin F. Baumann.
