Birmingham, Ala. (June 3, 2003) -- Embattled health-care provider HealthSouth said auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers is expected to complete its review of the company’s financials by the end of the month.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said by the end of the review, it would have a restructuring plan in place to help alleviate its debt load of $3.3 billion.
HealthSouth and its former chief executive, Richard Scrushy, are currently under investigation for accounting fraud, a probe that has seen some 11 former finance executives plead guilty.
