Receipt Bank changes name to Dext

Receipt Bank, a company that makes document management software, has changed its name to Dext to reflect how much more beyond receipt management its products can do. Its flagship brand, Receipt Bank, will now be called Dext Prepare.

Dext has also launched the Connect App, available in the United States, which allows users of Dext Prepare to manage QuickBooks Desktop clients in the cloud.

The name change comes at a time when the company reports 1 million users.

According to Dext, it added a quarter of a million users during the pandemic in 2020, doubling its growth over the previous two years. Dext also acquired data assurance software Xavier, which will now be known as Dext Precision.

“Dext backs accountants making better businesses,” said CEO Adrian Blair in a statement. “Our mission is to make accountants productive, profitable and powerful through getting a clear picture of business finances automatically and accurately. It is clear from the success of Precision and some of our most recent product launches that accountants are crying out for tools to give expert advice to help businesses succeed in these turbulent times.”

Dext Prepare possesses the same capabilities as Receipt Bank — the software automatically captures and categorizes financial paperwork.

Dext Precision, a toolkit for Xero and QuickBooks Online users that provides data and insights, will be rolled out to U.S. users in 2021.

Prepare and Precision products also include a new Dashboard designed to collect client insights into one place.
