RISCPA Helps Nightclub Fire Victims

Providence, R.I. (March 4, 2003) -- The Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, a 1,500-member group here, is offering free tax and financial planning assistance to the victims of the recent nightclub fire in West Warwick, R.I., which killed 97 people.

The Society is providing tax advice and preparation along with financial planning relating to such issues as insurance proceeds, education savings, and budgeting.

Requests for assistance will be matched to specific RISCPA members. All participating CPAs are waiving their normal fees. Victims or their families seeking assistance are asked to contact the RISCPA at 401-331-5720.
