The average starting salary ranges contained in the salary calculators are based on research conducted for Robert Halfs 2010 Salary Guides. Information in the guides is based on the thousands of job searches, negotiations and placements managed by Robert Halfs staffing and recruiting managers, along with the companys ongoing surveys of senior executives.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics references the guides when preparing its comprehensive Occupational Outlook Handbook.
