Sage Releases CRM v6

Sage Software has launched CRM v6, the latest version of its customer relationship management system.

The upgrade offers new user training tools including instructional tours and on-screen coaching, new data management features such as expanded search queries and grouping functionality, as well as enhanced administration capabilities.

“Getting people to use the CRM system has been the key hurdle to CRM implementation,” said Chris Reich, director of product management for Sage CRM solutions. “Now that CRM has become much more popular, that basic issue hasn’t changed.”

In an effort to assist users new to the CRM system, help tips and videos have been added through a Quick Start tab. An advanced search engine with a redesigned interface now will allow a keyword search within e-mails and phone logs. This new version also offers integration with Microsoft Outlook, which allows users to file individual e-mails, or batches of e-mails sent from Outlook in Sage CRM and attach global documents in new Outlook e-mails.

A territory “tree” has also been updated, which will allow records to be merged or moved from one sales territory to another. The system’s field-level security requires no coding and can be applied using checkboxes for granting or restricting data access for individual users, specific user type profiles and teams.

“We spent a lot of time talking to our customers and partners, getting a lot of feedback,” Reich said. “It’s not about what we want, what we see or what the CRM trend is. It’s about pouring the customer feedback into the product. Every feature in Version 6 goes right back to customer requests.”
