San Diego Firm Merges with SoCal Competitor

San Diego-area accounting firm Peterson & Co. LLP announced that it will merge into Newport Beach, Calif.-based Squar, Milner, Miranda & Williamson LLP.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined firm will operate under the name Squar, Milner, Peterson, Miranda & Williamson LLP.
Peterson managing partner Richard Evans, will continue to lead the firm’s San Diego office and the firm said that its other four partners and two managers will also stay. Steve Milner will serve as the entire firm’s managing partner.

Peterson brings a total of 40 full-time employees to the merger, and according to the firm’s Web site, major clients include companies and institutions in the technology, biotechnology, manufacturing, nonprofit, financial, pension fund, real estate and service industries. The firm also serves as independent auditors for registrants with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Squar Milner, located in Orange County, is also a full-service firm, and employs more than 100 professionals.
