San Jose Accounting Firm Changes Name

Ireland San Filippo, a San Jose-based accounting firm, is being renamed Sensiba San Filippo.

The name change reflects the identity of managing partner John Sensiba. Along with the name change, the firm is moving its Fremont, Calif., office to Pleasanton to serve more clients in the area. The firm’s other offices will remain in San Jose, San Mateo and Morgan Hill.

The firm was originally founded in 1975. With the addition of Steve San Filippo in 1980, the firm changed its name to Ireland San Filippo. In 1999, one of the founding partners, Bill Ireland, retired. Sensiba, who joined the firm in 1994, took the helm as managing partner last year.

“It is a true honor to have my name represent the firm alongside Steve’s,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to leading our remarkably talented staff with the same passion and dedication that Steve and other firm leaders have shown throughout Sensiba San Filippo’s history.”

He told WebCPA that he sees opportunities in the Fremont area, including from nearby Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, which has been spinning off commercial subsidiaries.
