SEC Ramps Up Recruitment

Washington (Nov. 11, 2003) -- Faced with filling of void of 300 senior-level posts over the next four years, the Securities and Exchange Commission has retained Rockville, Md.-based executive search firm JDG Associates Ltd.

The regulator is charged with hiring qualified economists, MBAs, securities compliance examiners, IT specialists and attorneys.

Earlier this month, the agency retained global recruiter Korn/Ferry International in an effort to hire about 110 CPAs primarily within its Division of Corporate Finance.

The SEC has a current staff of approximately 3,100 with 11 regional and district offices throughout the country.
