Securities America Announces Promotions

Broker-dealer Securities America announced its officer promotions for 2012.

Kirk Hulett was promoted to executive vice president of strategy and practice management. Hulett has been with the company for 17 years, joining as director of human resources and later founding the firm’s practice management department in 1998. He also serves as chief strategy officer.

Doreen Griffith was promoted to executive vice president. Griffith joined Securities America in 1999 and as chief information officer, led the team that developed the company’s e*Office tools. Additionally, Griffiths provides executive leadership to the rep relations center, administrative services, enterprise project management and compensation processing departments.

Kevin Miller was promoted to senior vice president. After joining the company in 2000 as a compliance examiner, he moved to the legal department as assistant general counsel and then deputy general counsel. In 2008, he moved back into his former department as chief compliance officer, overseeing broker-dealer and RIA compliance functions.

Leon Johnson was promoted to vice president of IS operations and technology support. Johnson previously held multiple roles, starting at the company in 1995 as an operations non-brokerage processor, then moving to the information services department, as a computer operator, tech services analyst and IS team lead. He then transferred to the security team, assuming the roles of engineer, manager, director and then first vice president. He was most recently chief information security officer, leading the rep technology, client management and information systems operations team.

Zach Parker was promoted to first vice president of annuities and insurance. After coming to Securities America six years ago as a wealth planning specialist, Parker assumed responsibility for all annuity, insurance and income distribution initiatives within the wealth management department in 2009. In 2011, Securities America won the Thought Leadership award from the Retirement Industry Income Association for a paper parker co-authored, “Capturing the Income Distribution Opportunity.”

Craig Zimmerman was promoted to first vice president of operations. After 17 years in the financial services industry, Zimmerman joined Securities America to oversee the daily support and workflow for all operations department functions, including account processing, maintenance, cashiering and fees, brokerage services and trading. He is also involved with strategic operations initiatives to enhance the advisor experience.
