Sikich Buys Levi Littell Herbst

Accounting and consulting firm Sikich LLP has acquired Levi Littell Herbst & Co., a boutique M&A advisory firm that specializes in transactions under $100 million in value.

Levi Littell also provides investment assistance to venture capital and private equity firms. Managing directors Laurence W. Levi and Richard A. Herbst will join Sikich as partners and bring all of their staff with them. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Levi Littell Herbst & Co. will be integrated into Sikich's existing investment banking group and will operate under the Sikich name, but Levi Littell’s offices will remain in Chicago and New York.

Levi runs the New York office, where he focuses on buy-side and sell-side engagements for both entrepreneur-owned and private equity-backed firms. With 15 years of experience in closing mergers and acquisitions, he has executed transactions ranging in size from multi-billion-dollar divestitures to rollups of small sole proprietorships.

Herbst runs the Chicago office, where he focuses on buy-side and sell-side engagements for entrepreneur-owned firms, and for financial investors including private equity and venture capital firms. He has over 20 years of experience in strategic consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and general management. In addition, he has advised and served in senior executive roles with Fortune 500 companies and at large privately funded companies.

Sikich ranked 70th on Accounting Today’s 2009 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $42 million in revenue.
