SJHL, BSE Merge in Kansas

McPherson, Kan.-based accounting firm Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd announced the acquisition of Hutchinson, Kan., firm BSE, effective Jan 1, 2012.

SJHL’s 25 staff members and BSE’s three will remain in their two office locations, under the Swindoll, Janzen, Hawk & Loyd name. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“We have been looking for an opportunity to better serve our many clients in the Hutchinson area, and we were really pleased to work out a deal with BSE,” said SJHL managing partner Kyle Hawk in a statement. “Their partners, Steve [Seltzer] and Diane [Lee], have a wonderful relationship with their clients and a great reputation in the community. We share the same goal of great client care and we truly believe that working with them will allow us to continue doing this while we progress together.”

“Working with SJHL will allow us to support the growing needs of our clients,” stated BSE partner Diane Lee. “We searched diligently to find the right firm to partner with, and we feel confident that SJHL is the best fit for BSE and our clients. We look forward to growing with SJHL and supporting the success of our clients.”

SJHL celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2011, while BSE served the Hutchinson area for more than 85 years.

“When any firm grows, your main concern is making sure your current clients are positively impacted by the changes,” said Hawk. “Our clients should be excited about this growth, as it means we can provide them with more resources, services and better overall advice. BSE has a strong presence in their community, and we are proud to work with them through this process. We have similar cultures that should make for an easy transition. BSE brings many years of experience to the table, and together, we are ready to continue our collective growth.”
