Small Southern Massachusetts Firms Merge

The 40-year-old firm of Paul E. Daoust & Co. PC CPAs, based in Charlton, Mass., announced that it has acquired the Sturbridge, Mass.-based practice of CPA John M. Larson.

Financial terms of the acquisition, which is effective immediately, were not disclosed.

Daoust said that Larson's retirement had led to the combination of the two very compatible firms and that his office will absorb Larson's sole employee, bringing his staff to a total of eight accountants and support specialists.

"Over the years I have known and much respected John Larson, and I believe that the acquisition will be advantageous to his clients," Daoust said, in a statement.

The full-service practice will continue to focus on accounting, auditing, consulting and taxation for households, businesses and nonprofit groups in central Massachusetts. The firm is located about 15 minutes outside of Worcester, Mass., in the southern part of the state.
