Socius Buys Business Technology Consulting Firm

Midwest business and technology consulting firm Socius has acquired the consulting division of Bruner-Cox LLP, BC Technology Ltd.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Socius will take on BC Technology's consultants and more than 250 clients, the majority of whom operate in the manufacturing and distribution industries. Socius will provide a range of services related to its enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management solutions, including annual system reviews, training, technology updates and overall performance enhancements.

"This is an important milestone in our continued growth," said Socius chief executive and senior managing director Jeff Geisler, in a statement. "The Socius team worked extremely hard and was dedicated to making this happen."

BC Technology is a subsidiary of Bruner-Cox, a regional accounting and consulting firm in northeast Ohio. The division specializes in business management, customer relationship management, E-business, office applications, hardware infrastructure and other applications.Socius has had a long-term relationship with Bruner-Cox, which will continue. The acquisition will allow Bruner-Cox to focus on their core accounting and consulting services while Socius, a leading provider of technology based solutions, will now provide technology consulting services for the firm's clients.
