Solender Named Vice Chair, General Counsel at E&Y

Big Four firm Ernst & Young named former Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual executive Michael Solender as its Americas vice chair and general counsel, effective February 24.

Prior to coming aboard at E&Y, Solender served as general counsel and senior managing director at Bear Stearns from 2004 through 2008, and executive vice president and chief legal officer of Washington Mutual Inc. His resume also includes a stint as general counsel of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Solender succeeds Kathryn Oberly, who was recently sworn in as an associate judge on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
