Stuart Kessler Joins J.H. Cohn

Influential accounting industry leader Stuart Kessler has joined J.H. Cohn as a director.

A personal financial planning specialist, Kessler has been cited several times by Accounting Today as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting, and as one of the nation’s top personal financial planning professionals. Kessler, inaugurated as the first living member of the New York State Society of CPAs’ Hall of Fame, is a past NYSSCPA president, a past president of that organization’s Foundation for Accounting Education Committee, and a former chair of its Future of the Profession Oversight Committee.

He is a past chair of the American Institute of CPAs and recipient of the AICPA Gold Medal for lifetime achievement in the accounting profession. He was a founder of Goldstein Golub Kessler & Co. PC, which was acquired by American Express Tax and Business Services in 1998. He became a managing director of RSM McGladrey in 2008 after McGladrey & Pullen later acquired Goldstein Golub Kessler.
