SunGard, a global provider of business processing software for the financial services and educational sectors, has acquired Automated Financial Systems Corp., a manufacturer and marketer of front-office solutions for the brokerage industry.
Terms were not disclosed. New York-based AFS will be integrated with SunGard’s WealthStation, its flagship wealth-management product.
AFS’s solutions include the Investpoint broker workstation, the Investor and Active Trader retail trading tools, Infostream streaming market data, and the Correspondent Clearing Portal.
Gerard Murphy, president of SunGard’s brokerage and clearance business said AFS’s front-office applications complement WealthStation’s offerings for retail brokerage, clearing, bank, trust, insurance and independent firms.
