SWK Expands in Texas With Latest Sage Partner Account Buy

SWK Technologies Inc. is expanding further into Texas as it has acquired the Sage business partner accounts of Colleyville, Texas -based SGEN LLC (aka Software Generation) and has retained key personnel.

The move comes just weeks after SWK bought the Sage business partner accounts of Dallas-based Point Solutions, retaining several personnel and approximately 20 accounts. That deal provided SWK with its foray into Texas, added in Point Solutions’ Sage 100 and 500 business and allowed for expansion of SWK’s ERP X3 business.

The Software Generation account buy was primarily about its Sage Pro business and ultimately migrating those customers to other products once Pro is sunset, according to SWK president Jeff Roth.

“With (SGEN president) Steve Morin, he is very focused on supporting Sage Pro customers as Sage retires the product and desires to pick up orphans,” said Roth. “He also has assertively learned X3 and is focused on migrations of these clients on to X3. They may also migrate to Sage 100 or Sage 300, or even Sage 50 in some cases. Partnering with SWK allows all of this to happen.

Software Generation will operate from SWK’s regional office in Dallas.
