FRX INTEGRATES ANALYTICS WITH AXAPTA: Microsoft Business Solutions’ Axapta enterprise resource planning product now has the financial reporting capabilities of Microsoft FRx.

The new interface between Microsoft Axapta and Microsoft FRx adds electronic report distribution options and built-in accounting intelligence to the multi-language, multi-currency abilities for Axapta. The ERP product is designed to help companies optimize their supply chain and create efficient processes throughout their organization, as well as to provide a broad range of tools to support end-to-end business processes from production and distribution to sales and marketing, human resource management, and fixed asset management.

Offered as an add-on module, Microsoft FRx integration with Axapta lets customers take advantage of the platform’s dimensional table structure to create detailed reports. Microsoft FRx also lets Axapta customers create regular and on-demand reports that break down financial performance by specific dimensions such as product line, plant, division and more.

Microsoft FRx has been integrated with other MBS accounting products, including Great Plains and Solomon.

GARTNER RESELLER SURVEY RANKS NETSUITE AS TOP VENDOR: A recent Gartner Inc. survey of accounting software market value-added resellers and consultants found that hosted business application software maker NetSuite Inc. received top rankings, outscoring Microsoft Business Solutions, Best Software, Intuit and nine other software providers.

The Gartner Accounting-based Small Business Management Applications Market Exhibit 2003 report ranked top technology and product trends for the small to midsized business market. Two polls in the report asked resellers to rank vendor capabilities. NetSuite received the top ranking in the vendor conviction poll, a survey that asked respondents to rank vendors that “show aggressive product innovation, pursue active and creative partner development, and bend over backward to support VARs and consultants.” NetSuite was also among the top five technologies in the vendor solutions poll, a measure of products’ functional capability. Microsoft Great Plains received the top ranking in this poll, followed by Best MAS 90/200, MBS Solomon, Accpac Advange, and Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Edition.

“NetSuite’s aggressiveness and conviction has moved them to the top as the visionary in this space,” said Bob Anderson, research director for SMB business applications at Gartner.
