Tennessee Society of CPAs announces 2018 scholarships

The Tennessee Society of CPAs announced this week that it is now accepting 2018 scholarship applications from undergraduate and graduate accounting students within the state.

This year's scholarships will range from $500 to $25,000 each, with over $250,000 in awards expected to be granted.

Scholarship recipients are chosen based on their desire to gain CPA licenses, their academic achievement, recommendation and financial need.

“TSCPA is dedicated to ensuring there is a strong pipeline of accounting students in Tennessee who are working their way towards earning their CPA license,” stated Brad Floyd, TSCPA president and CEO. “While membership is not required to apply, student membership is free and student members receive additional consideration during the selection process.”

The TSCPA has now awarded over $3.5 million to students in Tennessee through the 18-year scholarship program.

“The scholarship and the connections that have come with it dramatically impacted my accounting career,” said Chris Avrit, a previous scholarship recipient, per a statement. “It launched me into the professional world and will enable me to help people through the work I plan to do.”
