Thomson Improves zCalc Estate Tax Calculator

Thomson Tax & Accounting has upgraded its zCalc fiduciary practice system, adding an advanced estate tax calculator program for determining federal and state estate taxes.

With the calculator software, practitioners can input dependent information and expenses, factor in multi-state asset locations, resident and non-resident state information, beneficial interests stated as a fixed amount or percent of residue, marital and charitable interrelated calculations, and more.

Thomson has also added more report-generating features for federal tax computation results, state tax summary, beneficiary distribution summary and computation of residue.

zCalc provides analysis and calculating tools that let estate practitioners create custom scenarios from a "library" connected to Microsoft Excel, use calculations from the library in predefined spreadsheet templates, and present scenarios and reports to their clients using customized Microsoft PowerPoint templates.
