Thomson Tax & Accounting said that it is partnering with Orbitax on a product called International Tax Expert that will leverage Thomson’s Checkpoint and InSource products.

One version of the product designed for online use, ITE Online, will work with Thomson’s Checkpoint research service. The product displays cross-border income tax rates and calculates payments made between multiple foreign entities. It uses content from the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation on cross-border taxation, as well as content from RIA, WG&L and BNA.

A more advanced desktop version, ITE Enterprise, includes the content from ITE Online, and adds a modeling and optimization engine, along with other features.

Both versions leverage Orbitax’s software tools for cross-border taxation. Orbitax was formed in September 2006 through the merger of the software businesses of IBFD Publications and Global CBS.
