Treasury Wants Input on Financial Literacy Strategy

The Treasury Department is soliciting comments on a draft version of its national strategy for financial literacy.

The national strategy aims to provide a broad strategic overview for the financial literacy and education field.

The Treasury’s working group has identified five action areas—policy, education, practice, research and coordination. The working group’s next steps will focus on implementation of the national strategy and how different types of organizations might integrate the national strategy into their work.

Before the draft national strategy is finalized, the Treasury Department, on behalf of the Financial Literacy and Education Commission, is seeking public comment on the document. Comments must be received on or before Sept. 19, 2010 to be considered. They can be e-mailed to FLECstrategy@do.treas.gov
