Unit4 Plots ‘Route 66’ ERP Product Release Strategy

Dutch accounting software developer Unit4 has released the first in a planned series of Agresso Business World enterprise resource planning software products as part of a strategy it dubs “Route 66.”

The Agresso Business World Route 66 strategy involves what the company calls a “pick and mix” upgrade approach to ERP software to provide users with access to new features, technologies, user interfaces and deployment options. The company released the first of the products on Friday and said they were part of what it calls a new “independence” strategy for “Businesses Living IN Change,” or BLINC.

The company also outlined a series of “milestones” along Route 66. They involve improvements in the user interface that will allow users to perform key tasks more quickly. Unit4 also plans to extend the capabilities of the software’s “Vita Architecture.” In addition, the company said it would deliver the newest features across any combination of on-premise or Web-based cloud deployments of its software.

Netherlands-based Unit4 also makets the Coda Financials accounting software product line, and with Salesforce.com co-owns cloud computing-based software provider FinancialForce.com.
