University of Texas at Austin named best MBA accounting program of 2019

U.S. News & World Report has released its ranking of the best MBA accounting programs of 2019, with the University of Texas at Austin and its McCombs School of Business taking top honors.

To compile its list, U.S. News ranked the ratings of business school deans and directors of accredited MBA programs. Voters were asked to nominate up to 15 programs in each business school specialty (including accounting). The schools with the most votes in each specialty were then numerically ranked based on the number of nominations received, with a minimum of seven or more nominations needed for each specialty.

Of the No. 1 ranked University of Texas at Austin, U.S. News reports that 75 percent of its full-time McCombs School of Business students are employed upon graduation. The McCombs School of Business was also recognized as U.S. News' No. 19 overall business school of 2019.

U.S. News & World Report's top 10 MBA accounting programs of 2019 are as follows:

  3. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School)
  4. Brigham Young University (Marriott School of Business)
  5. University of Michigan—Ann Arbor (Ross School of Business)
  6. University of Chicago (Booth School of Business)
  7. University of Southern California (Marshall School of Business)
  8. Stanford University (Graduate School of Business)
  9. New York University (Stern School of Business)
  10. Ohio State University (Fisher College of Business)
