Online career resource Vault.com announced its 2018-19 rankings of the best accounting internships on Thursday, along with a slew of other best internship categories that saw accounting firms well-represented.
Vault polled more than 13,000 current and former interns this past summer to help determine their rankings. Interns were asked to rate and review their internship experiences, as well as how prestigious they considered an internship at a particular company would be. Interns were asked to only rate companies whose reputations they were familiar with; Vault then averaged the scores and ranked them accordingly.
Concerning accounting internships, Top 100 firm Elliott Davis and its "ENVISION Summer Internship Experience" once again took top honors, retaining its title from last year. Frank, Rimerman & Co.'s summer internship program and Wilkin & Gutterplan's winter/summer internships took second and third place, respectively, on this year's list.
Notably, the top three accounting internships this year ranked third through fifth on Vault's top 50 internships of 2019, joined by BDO USA at the ninth spot. Big Four firm Deloitte was also recognized as one of the top 20 "Most Prestigious Internship Programs" for 2019 — the lone accounting firm to be featured — joining the likes of Google, Apple and Tesla.
