Virginia Society Launches Free CPA Advice Program

The Virginia Society of CPAs debuted an "Ask a CPA" e-mail program that promises free answers to personal financial questions within three business days.

The program is open to Virginia residents who wish to improve their money management skills. They can ask CPAs about a variety of topics, including money management, investments, insurance, taxes, retirement and estate planning, home purchases, credit and more.

The effort is part of an overall initiative the VSCPA has introduced known as Financial Fitness. Under this project, the VSCPA has been conducting community outreach and education efforts to teach Virginians more about money management and fiscal responsibility.

As part of that effort, the VSCPA has been holding free consumer workshops led by CPA experts. The society has also created a consumer Web site, www.FinancialFitness.org, offering financial information and guides to the public.
