The Virginia Society of CPAs and its Educational Foundation recently announced its college scholarship recipients for the 2018–2019 academic year. A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Educational Foundation looks to promote "business and accounting education, rewarding academic excellence and encouraging students to pursue promising careers as [CPAs]."
This year, the Foundation awarded $58,500 in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral scholarships to 27 accounting college students studying within the state. Scholarship applicants must be currently enrolled or have been accepted in an accounting program at a Virginia college or university, as well as demonstrate top academic performance, submit an entry essay and faculty recommendations, and demonstrate community and/or extracurricular service.
