Weaver and Tidwell Names New Partner and Leaders

Gregory L. Bailes has joined Weaver and Tidwell’s Austin office as audit partner, and the firm has named W. David Rook as assurance service leader in its Houston office.

In November 2005, Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Bailes to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. He has served as chair of the rules committee, secretary to the board and member of the executive committee, the behavioral enforcement committee and one of two technical standards review committees, involving major cases with large accounting firms. In May 2009, Perry made Bailes presiding officer of the board.

Rook has served as audit partner and audit location leader in the Houston office. With 12 years experience in audit, he joined Weaver and Tidwell in 2007 through the merger with McDonald, Fox and Lund, P.C., where he was a shareholder.

In addition to Rook, Weaver and Tidwell also named Brad K. Jay as Fort Worth audit location leader and John J. Mackel III as Houston audit location leader.
