Weaver Merges in Edelman Arnold

Weaver is expanding its presence in the San Antonio market by merging with Edelman Arnold, starting Jan. 1.

This is the firm’s second expansion in the San Antonio market. Last December, the firm, then known as Weaver and Tidwell, moved into the San Antonio market by merging with Polansky McNutt Perry & Co. (see Texas Accounting Firms Merge). To make room for its latest expansion, Weaver is moving its San Antonio offices to larger quarters in the heart of San Antonio’s North Central Loop.

Edelman Arnold was initially established in 1952 and is currently led by two CPAs, Barry Edelman and Frank Arnold. Edelman will join Weaver as a senior managing director and Arnold as a partner. All of the firm’s employees, including six CPAs, will join Weaver.

“Our clients will benefit from the added depth and breadth this merger with Weaver provides,” said Edelman. “We will be better positioned to serve growing businesses throughout this region of the state and continue to build upon the personalized, close and enduring relationships we have established with our current clients.”

Weaver currently has approximately 400 employees in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. It had $58 million in annual revenue, and Edelman Arnold had $1.5 million in 2009. The firm ranked 58th on Accounting Today’s 2009 list of the Top 100 Firms.
