Tax season is coming ...* Council on State Taxation -

COST represents more than 500 multi-state corporations engaged in interstate and international business. The group works to ensure that corporate taxpayers are represented on state tax issues often spanning a number of jurisdictions.

* IRS "Tax Stats" -

The revamped Tax Stats page on the Internal Revenue Service Web site includes access to the most frequently requested statistical information and popular IRS publications and products. In addition, the Statistics of Income Division has added revised table formats and updated report formats.

* The President's Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform -

Formed in January by President Bush, the panel was due to submit a "neutral policy options" report to Treasury Secretary John Snow in early November.

* TaxAlmanac -

The beta version of Intuit's free online tax research Web site enables practitioners to post questions and answers. Built on a concept similar to Wikipedia, most of the content comes from user submissions.

* Taxpayer Advocacy Panel -

The TAP is comprised of citizen volunteers from around the country who convene on a regular basis and help the IRS develop strategies to improve its customer service and satisfaction levels.

* Tax Policy Center -

The Tax Policy Center brings together experts in tax, budget and social policy to provide analysis about tax policy through model estimates, more than 400 publications and a comprehensive database.

* TaxProf Blog -

Updated by Paul L. Caron, a professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, the TaxProf Blog presents a daily mix of news and commentary targeted at both academics and practitioners, and also includes links to a number of other tax professor blogs.
