Winding River Consulting adds more dates for MP 'Bootcamp'

Firm management expert Gary Shamis and his new Cleveland-based Winding River Consulting have announced more dates to their Managing Partner Bootcamp (MPB), which looks to offer MP's an intensive course in developing their skills.

The sixteen-course curriculum - held over two, three-day sessions - will be overseen by a number of subject experts that will help attendees lead their firms into the future.

“In professional services, a managing partner is generally voted in by the partner group for ascension into the role of firm leader. But they don’t get a handbook or guidebook and these leaders are left to figure things out themselves, most of the time by trial and error,” Shamis said, per a statement.

“There is nothing like this [course] in the marketplace,” stated Allan Koltin, chief executive of Chicago-based Koltin Consulting Group. “This is a unique and measurable opportunity for incoming and new managing partners to gain immediate knowledge and confidence, and seasoned managing partners to hone their skills. The value of this experience will be returned for years.”

The initial 2017 class, held in May and November, is currently sold out. Registration for the 2018 classes will open in early summer 2017, meeting Oct. 25-27, 2017, and May 23-25, 2018.

Shamis has previously been named 12 times to Accounting Today’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and was also featured on the inaugural Managing Partner Elite list in 2012.
