Wolters Kluwer Reports on Audit Technology

Wolters Kluwer Audit, Risk & Compliance has released a new report on how different organizations are using auditing technology.

Audit Technology Insights 2012” showcases commentary and ideas from audit leaders on effective uses of technology. The report includes information on how companies like Home Depot, Genworth Financial and Hospital Corporation of America are using the technology. Focused on providing practical advice to all internal audit functions, the report is published by the company’s TeamMate line of audit management solutions.

“Audit Technology Insights 2012” features conversations with 17 audit leaders across multiple industries and organizations, including Microsoft, Kellogg and United Airlines. It also highlights AuditNet founder and CEO Jim Kaplan’s top suggestions for optimizing the use of audit technology.

“In order to better assess the risks facing their organizations and simplify each step of the audit process, audit departments must learn how they can most effectively use technology and find ways to share best practices with their peers,” said Mike Gowell, vice president and general manager - TeamMate, Wolters Kluwer Audit, Risk & Compliance. “This report offers insight as to how leading internal audit departments of all sizes are utilizing technology to strengthen their operations.”

The report is part of TeamMate’s effort to help auditors determine the effectiveness of their technology efforts. Last fall, TeamMate conducted an Internal Audit Technology Survey, which was completed by 585 internal auditors across the globe and provided a baseline of responses to questions dealing with internal audit trends and directions. Earlier this year, TeamMate unveiled its new Internal Audit Technology Maturity Model and Diagnostic, designed to help organizations develop technology strategies for their internal audit activities.
