Women Accounting Forum Seeks Innovators

The Forum for Women in Accounting is calling for nominations for its 2008 Innovator of the Year Award.

The event, scheduled for June 16-18 at the Bellagio Las Vegas, focuses on developing professional skills and career paths for women in the accounting profession. The conference will present its second annual Innovator of the Year Award, created to honor the women who embody the principles of innovation. Conference organizers are seeking nominations for “individuals who have a vision, the initiative to get it started and the will to see it through.”

Nominees may have been responsible for making beneficial improvements in firm operations, taking great strides in creative client service, being instrumental in shaping firm culture or paving the way for other women.

The award is open to a woman, or someone involved directly in women’s issues, who is employed by an accounting firm, an accountant by trade, or someone who has demonstrated innovation within the accounting profession overall.

To nominate a candidate, please send a short paragraph explaining why they deserve to be honored, along with a bio or resume of the nominee, to conference administration before May 21, 2008. Be sure to include the full contact information of both the nominator and nominee. The conference’s independent judging team will review the submissions and announce the recipient at the conference. Nominations should be sent to Kathy Sautters of The Advisory Board at ksautters@theadvisoryboard.net, or fax them to her at (860) 489-6563.

The award will be presented on June 18. The nominator of the winner will be notified prior to the presentation.
