WSJ's Weil to Join Glass, Lewis

Proxy researcher Glass, Lewis & Co. has named Wall Street Journal reporter Jonathan Weil as its managing director and editor of financial research, effective February 1.
In his new role, Weil, 35, will oversee the publishing efforts of Glass Lewis analysts specializing in identifying company-specific and industry-wide material risks for institutional investors.

He will be based in Glass Lewis' Broomfield, Colo., office and report to Lynn Turner, Glass Lewis' managing director of research. Turner is a former chief accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Weil, who was named to Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting roster in 2004, joined the Journal in 1997 in its Houston office.
Over the past several years he has covered the accounting profession and financial fraud.
