Last chance to register for second President's Advisory Council meeting

 The second public meeting of the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans (“the Council”) will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from 9:00am - 11:30am EDT, on site at the US Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C.

The Council came about on June 25, 2013, when President Obama signedExecutive Order 13646. The Council will advise the President and the Secretary of the Treasury on how to promote financial capability among young Americans and look to build the financial capabilities of young people at an early age in schools, families, and communities. These recommendations will serve as an investment to the nation's "future financial stability and increase upward economic mobility," according to the Treasury's website.

Members of the public who plan on attending the meeting must register onthe event's website by 5:00 p.m. EDT on September 26, 2014 or until capacity is reached. Attendees will need to provide their full name, date of birth and Social Security Number. Attendees must also present a government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, on the day of the event.

Those who cannot attend, but still wish to watch, can stream the webcast live atthe Treasury's websiteon October 2nd. Registration is not necessary for the webcast.
