Michael Savoy of Gumbiner Savett honored with National Jewish Health's 'Humanitarian Award'

Michael Savoy, senior shareholder at Santa Monica-based firmGumbiner Savett, is being honored with the Humanitarian Award at the National Jewish Health and Los Angeles Professional Services "Black and White Ball," the firm announced this week. The event will be held June 4, at the Skirball Cultural Center, in West Los Angeles.

[IMGCAP(1)] The Humanitarian Award recognizes those who have made "significant civic and charitable contributions to the community and are distinguished leaders in their fields," per the event's website.

“I am very excited and proud that Michael is receiving this incredible honor” said Valerie Colin, a fellow shareholder at Gumbiner Savett, in a statement. “I have known Michael for almost 40 years and he embodies all of the qualities that this award salutes.”

Savoy is a former board member of a privately held, not-for-profit, day school in Northridge and served as the treasurer of the school for 6 years. He is also a past president and current board member of the California Board of Accountancy.

Savoy also serves on the board of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce as their Treasurer, as well as being a member of the AICPA, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Association.
