New blog alert!

What’s it like to be spending your summer as a tax intern at Ernst & Young in New Jersey? One brave soul shares her experiences through a new blog on the New Jersey Society of CPAs' web site.

Colette Shalhoub, a senior at the College of New Jersey, writes about how fast the 8:30 to 5:30PM day goes at her office (!) and how she’s kept busy with tax work. After her first week of client serving, Shalhoub writes, “During training, one of the things they stressed was communication about your schedule. Therefore, after I finished one of my projects this morning, I contacted a few EY professionals in the office asking if they need help.  A senior staff quickly responded, and I was immediately put on another assignment! Although it wasn't complex work, it was a great opportunity to learn about a different area of tax compared to the big assignment I was on, and I took it as an opportunity to put myself out there.”

Keep up the good work, Colette!
