Paychex has released a list of what it sees as the top regulatory issues of this summer.

The list includes the U.S. Supreme Court’s rulings in late June on the Affordable Care Act and same-sex marriage, the Department of Labor’s proposed expansion of overtime rules in July, recent legislation and ballot initiatives on mandatory sick leave, proposals for increasing the minimum wage, and increased enforcement by the Labor Department on rules governing who qualifies as an employee or independent contractor.

“A major ruling on the Affordable Care Act, coupled with news of the Department of Labor’s proposed overtime rule, has meant a busy and potentially uncertain time for business owners this summer, “ said Paychex president and CEO Martin Mucci in a statement.
