PwC Greater Michigan to donate $65,000 to area non-profits

PwC US announced today that its Greater Michigan practice will donate a total of $65,000 to three area non-profit organizations, funded by grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc.

"We are committed to strengthening the communities in which we live and work by supporting the organizations that are dedicated to improving lives and raising the next generation of leaders," said Ray Telang, managing partner of PwC's Greater Michigan market, in a statement. "Through these grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation and our ongoing initiatives under the firm's Earn Your Future program, we are thoroughly dedicated to revitalizing the community and empowering local students to become catalysts for our region's advancement."

The PwC Earn Your Future campaign, established in 2012, provides educational and financial resources to students and teachers nationwide, notably donating $43 million to various causes over the last two years.

The Michigan organizations receiving grants are as follows:

  • Detroit Parent Network – A non-profit organization aimed at improving parental involvement in childhood education by offering workshops, practical tools, written materials and leadership development.
  • The First Tee – The Michigan chapter of the international organization dedicated to providing educational programs that build character, instill values and promote healthy choices for youth through the game of golf.
  • Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan – A non-profit youth organization focused on providing critical understanding of financial concepts, a vision of economic opportunity, and a drive to succeed academically.
