Accounting majors at Montclair State University in New Jersey received an earful of information on International Financial Reporting Standards during a recent Q&A session hosted by an audit supervisor from WISS & Co.
During the hour long session, Jonathan Katz talked with accounting majors on the effects and changes in the profession and touched upon various topics such as IFRS, FASB, IASB and the SECs role in it all.
The discussion was very well-received, Katz said after the presentation. These are our future accountants of the world and by gaining an understanding of IFRS, students can now understand its potential impact on their future careers.
Regina Bonito, the firms human resources coordinator, also attended the event and shared with students various career options and trends in public accounting.
