QB Self-Employed Adds Automatic Mileage Tracking

Intuit announced a new automatic mileage tracking feature in its QuickBooks Self-Employed solution for independent contractors.

The new feature automatically tracks every trip so users don’t need to manually enter the data on their miles. With a swipe, users can see the deductions they’ve earned, with every 1,000 miles driven able to produce up to $500 in deductions.

So far, QuickBooks Self-Employed has helped users track more than 40 million to save more than $23 million, with QBSE users finding average potential tax savings of $3,809 each year, according to Intuit.

The company also announced six new QBSE partnerships, with eBay, FlexJobs, Incorporate.com, Kelly Services Moonlighting and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, giving more self-employed workers access to QBSE and the QBSE Tax Bundle. QBSE’s partnerships now total 19, including its previous relationships with Uber, Lyft, TaskRabbit, Fiverr and UpCounsel.
