The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs has named Debbie Mitchell and Kristen Costa of Braver PC as “Women to Watch.”

The award, which recognizes and honors women who are leaders in the accounting profession, is presented by the MSCPAs in partnership with the AICPA's Women Initiatives Executive Committee.

Mitchell, a principal in Braver’s Providence office, has been named an “Experienced Leader” for her significant contributions to the accounting profession.

Costa, of Dorchester, Mass., was named an "Emerging Leader" for being a role model to Braver staff as a mentor and teacher of in-house training sessions. She has been actively involved in the MSCPA through her participation as the chair of the Community Services Committee and the Young CPA Gulf Coast Recovery Initiative.

Mitchell and Costa will be presented with their awards at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Mass. on Sept. 30.
