Blue acquires D & Co. in Texas

Top 75 Firm Blue & Co. acquired D & Co., effective February 1, expanding its presence in Texas and strengthening its healthcare specialty.

D & Co., formerly Durbin & Co., adds four offices in Lubbock, Dallas, Fort Worth and Waco, Texas, to Blue, which is based in Carmel, Indiana. The deal also adds 40 employees to Blue, with expertise in healthcare reimbursement, hospital and clinical consulting, healthcare audits, projections and financial advisory.

Founded in 1970, Blue ranked No. 57 on Accounting Today's 2025 Top 100 Firms list, reporting $146 million in revenue, with over 625 employees across 17 offices in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and now Texas. In November 2024, it expanded into Michigan with the acquisition of Mellen, Smith, and Pivoz, and in January 2022, it expanded into Kentucky with the partial acquisition of Stuedle, Spears & Co.

The firm offers assurance, tax, compliance and consulting, healthcare consulting, benefit plan services, valuation and litigation support, and business services. Its industry specializations include healthcare, construction, nonprofit, manufacturing and distribution, technology, financial service organizations, and agribusiness.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Six directors from D & Co. are joining Blue: Brent Fuller, Tommy Davis, Steven Thummel, Andrew Castillo, Shonna Cannaday and Aaron Milligan.
