Deloitte renews support of City Year as 'National Strategy and Innovation Sponsor'

City Year and Deloitte announced last week that Deloitte is renewing its title as City Year's "National Strategy and Innovation Sponsor" for 2016, with a total investment of more than $1.1 million in cash and pro-bono consulting services.

AICPA's Women's Leadership Summit, Nov. 12-13 in SF, to feature finance trailblazers

Women make up approximately half of all new accounting grads, but are still statistically underrepresented at the partner and other leadership levels. The AICPA's Global Women’s Leadership Summit, held Nov. 12 - 13 2015 at the Hilton San Francisco, looks to help women in the accounting and finance fields develop key business skills and maximize networking and mentoring opportunities to boost their careers.

Nearly 7 in 10 accountants wouldn't change career, says Accountemps survey

Good news for those happy with their accounting career: According to a recent Accountemps survey, nearly seven in ten accounting and finance workers would choose not to go back in time and change their career choice. The online survey developed and conducted by Accountemps polled more than 2,600 finance professionals across the United States, and found that by and large professionals want to stay put.

AICPA's 2016 Personal Financial Planning Conference set for Jan. 18-20 in Las Vegas

Approximately 60 different sessions - with topics ranging from cybersecurity, managing a global portfolio, and important IRS regulatory developments - will be presented at this year's AICPA Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference. The annual conference, which will feature multiple experts in the field of financial planning, will be held at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, from January 18-20 2016.

EY contributes more than 100,000 volunteer hours during 2015 'Connect Day'

EY recently held their 6th annual Connect Day, the organization’s yearly day of service for the firm's professionals. This year's efforts featured more than 15,000 volunteers contributing more than 100,000 hours of charity - the highest contribution yet.

Becker Professional Education announces more than $225K in 2016 scholarships

Becker Professional Education, the global leader in professional education and a part of DeVry Education Group, today announced the availability of more than $225,000 in scholarship funds, part of its annual Newton D. Becker Scholarship Program. Through the program, more than 120 CPA's candidates will receive full or partial scholarships for Becker’s CPA Exam Review course.
