The Central Lakes College Accounting Club in Brainerd, Minn., did a good deed this holiday season, delivering donated goods they collected all semester to two local charities.
The 27-member group, made up of first- and second-year college students, brought the donations to the New Pathways Family Day Center and the Women’s Center of Mid-Minnesota. They had collected goods such as toys, clothing and gift certificates throughout the semester by leaving donation boxes around the campus, according to the
On Dec. 17, they brought a dozen boxes filled with winter clothes, games, dolls, stuffed animals and infant car seats to the two local family shelters. The students at Central Lakes are apparently learning a lot of important lessons besides adding up the balance sheet. They’re to be commended.
