LBMC wins Leading Edge Alliance Professionals award

Tennessee accounting firm Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain’s LBMC Young Professional’s Program won the 2013 Leading Edge Alliance Young Professionals award at the International LEA conference in San Francisco.

The program, which addresses the needs and builds the skills of young professionals who are in the first seven years of their careers in all of LBMC’s offices, has a formal leadership structure with terms.

Membership is also surveyed to find areas in need of support and assistance, which this year included ways to become board members of nonprofits, volunteer service opportunities, team-building activities and leadership opportunities.

As a result of this focus, 19 of the program’s 30 recent graduates have been placed on nonprofit boards in their communities.

LBMC is a founding member of LEA, the international association of independently-owned accounting and consulting firms.

“We are thrilled that that program received such high recognition particularly because our YPs lead and direct all aspects of the program,” said human resources director Jessica Utley in a statement. “Leadership is being emphasized in every aspect of the YP steering council and membership. The program win also highlights how LBMC differentiates itself as we continue to grow our firm talent and recruiting.”
