San Diego State University Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy professor Dr. David DeBoskey has received the Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award.
DeBoskey is one of five Beta Alpha Psi faculty advisors in the U.S. to be recognized with the honor, sponsored by McGladrey.
Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary and service organization for accounting, finance and information systems students with 289 chapters of students attending AACSB or EQUIS-accredited universities and maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA.
With DeBoskey as an advisor for the past five years, SDSU’s chapter won the KPMG Gold Challenge in 2009 and 2010 and is a 2011 finalist for the Ernst & Young Diversity award.
“Dr. DeBoskey has consistently provided the outstanding guidance and support that has led SDSU’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter to being one of the highest-achieving chapters within the organization,” said Dr. Sharon Lightner, director of SDSU’s Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy, in a statement. “The honor given to Dr. DeBoskey is well deserved and we are proud to have him as an exceptional faculty member at the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy.”
“I appreciate and am honored by the recognition bestowed by Beta Alpha Psi and the generosity shown by McGladrey,” said DeBoskey. “I am especially proud of the exceptional students that have been affiliated with the SDSU chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, because without them, we would not have achieved the outstanding success we have experienced in the past few years.”
